Disneynature BORN IN CHINA BLU-RAY

Disneynature BORN IN CHINA - Blu-ray + DVD + Digital, Widescreen, Rated G, Running Time: Approx. 79 min. ****

A mother panda bear, a snow leopard mother, a golden snub-nosed monkey and their families are followed through the seasons along with other creatures in the remote wilderness of China. The cuddly moments are occasionally broken up by danger and tragedy. But that's the cycle of life and fortunately the dark times are
few and far between in this fascinating family adventure. John Krasinski (TV's "The Office") narrates in true Disney fashion while director Lu Chuan and a team of cinematographers magnificently display the stunning landscapes. There's also a marvelous exotic score by composer Barnaby Taylor. The Blu-ray transfer is faithful to the theatrical presentation in every way - visually captivating with audio to match. The extras include four featurettes that dig deep into the making of this movie. Struggling through a bamboo forest, mingling with the monkeys and going undercover to film the snow leopards are part of these educational and entertaining treks. There's also a trip to northeast China to capture the first days after the birth of a red-crowned crane chick. A music video of American Authors' end credit song "Everything Everything" is another bonus. This mostly warm and fuzzy entry in the Disneynature series is a fine China animal documentary.
